exhibition connecting fashionistas with whats beautiful, stylish
and inspiring, bringing the best of Indian fashion, lifestyle and
now even a selection of contemporary art titled KOLKATA to CHENNAI;

fashion and art.
On display will be pretty much anything you might need a
full wedding wardrobe; fashion labels; designer jewellery; gift
items; home decor and luxurious spa products. On popular demand
for the first time a collection of mens wear will be seen
at the exhibition giving men the opportunity to indulge themselves
for the coming festive season. Arti Bagdy, the organizer of the
exhibition, says, This exhibition is meant to promote young
talent, not only in fashion but in anything that is creative.
There are 30 participants from all over India for the fashion exhibition
and eight artists from Shantiniketan and Kolkata for the art exhibition.
The eye is dazzled with Anshu
Modi's sizzling festive collection. The queen of bridal wear for
the past 22 years has brought a wonderful line for the style conscious
Chennaite. Anshu, whose strength lies in intricate detailing, has
brought creations that showcase her signature style. In an eye-popping
range from Zardozi and Bandani to Kalamkari and Chikankari, each
outfit is guaranteed to make a bride feel extra special on her big
day. The lehengas with tone on tone embroidery, gold leafs and rich
Mughal designs, ensures a princess bride effect. For this show,
Anshu says she has brought "traditional outfits as well as
funky, party wear
Chhutis brings to you a collection
of highly individualistic eco friendly garments highlighted with
embellishments, sequins and hand embroidery. Kishore Ramani will
be in Chennai for the first time with a very elegant range of Indian
menswear comprising of elegantly constructed ensembles, simple yet
immaculate semi-formals in a plethora of vibrant colors. His collection
also includes a smart range of suits for women with fine detailing
by way of pleats and pintucks.
Shibori
from Ahemdabad will showcase an exhaustive range of designer blouses.
Sampada from Delhi is back on popular demand. Toxiic, Surrender,
Aesthetic and Sonali Das all designers from Kolkatta will showcase
a range of tunics, embroidered sarees and fabrics. Rasberrie from
Delhi brings a fresh range of cushion covers and bed spreads. Parneet
Mehra from Jalandhar will display an entire range of funky and stylish
digitally printed tunics and fabrics in pure crepe. Almas from Mumbai
presents party clutches and Nona is here with her exclusive pakistani
party suits with delicate embroidery. Sarita Shokeen, Kalakriti,
Sole affair, Zari by Anjali, B by Bhavna, Saanskrutie, Stree collection,
Sheytal are the other designers who will make their presence at
the show with their attractive collections.
Adaa and Rashmi from Mumbai showcase a breath taking collection
of footwear and bags fulfilling your desire to accessorize your
wardrobe.
A complete jewellery section with Gianna and Precious collection
from Mumbai, Stones and Silver from Delhi , and CR Jewellers from
Kolkatta. They present a fantastic collection of precious and semi
precious jewelry.
On display will be chandelier earrings,
cocktail rings, bracelets, coordinated sets worked in corals, emeralds,
pearls and crystals.
Nyassa from Mumbai brings in an exotic range of handmade soaps,
bath gels, salts and lotions to pamper you. Aakarsshan from Delhi
presents a totally new range of mother of pearl trays, placemats,
bathroom sets and an exotic collection of dry flowers to dress up
your home and work place. Poonam Bajoria from Delhi and Rishab from
Kolkata display a unique collection of table mats, vases and various
decorative items.

ARTISTIC TALENT UNDER ONE ROOF
Every
artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature
into his pictures, said Henry Ward Beecher while describing
how the artists bring out their creativity. An artists job
is give shape to his creativity through some medium and if one
thinks of art in India- then it is Shantiniketan near Kolkata
which is synonymous with art. Bringing together artists from this
Mecca of art and Kolkata is Arti Bagdys Art Collezione titled
KOLKATA to CHENNAI. Eight artists- three of them faculties
of the Indian College of Art & Draftsmanship(ICAD)- formerly
known as Indian Art School; four of who are alumni of the same
and famed textile artisit Ajit Kumar Das come together for the
very first time to Chennai and will showcase their creativity
under one roof.
Ajit Kumar Das with immense training has developed the art of
vegetable dyeing and kalamkari and paints intricate and outstanding
wall hangings which form part of collections of France Embassy
Delhi, World Bank Delhi , Galleria Lafayette Paris, Victoria Albert
museum London , apart from several private collectors in India
and all over the world. He is the proud recipient of the Presidents
award for exclusive work of kalamkari style in 1987. He has been
invited to exhibit and participate in several prestigious shows
in India and abroad. Some of his best work will be on display
in Chennai for the first time.
Chandan
Das, presently a guest lecturer at ICAD Kolkata, graduated in
visual art- sculpture from Kolkatta and masters in visual art-sculpture
from Baroda . He has been the recipient of scholarship from the
ministry of Human resource development, government of India and
has won several awards including an award at the annual exhibition
of the government school of art and craft, Kolkatta. He has also
participated in exhibitions at the Lalit Kala Academy in Delhi
and academy of fine arts, Kolkatta. Tanmay Mridha also a lecturer
at ICAD is an alumnus of the Ravindra Bharati University . He
has participated in exhibitions of the Birla academy, Kolkata
and at Prabaha- millennium Viswa Banga Sammelan in Kolktta. His
works have won him awards like the AIFACS state level award and
the national scholarship from the ministry of HRD, government
of India . Subhasis Saha alumnus of the government college of
art, Kolkata and Shantiniketan Kala Bhavan paints with acrylics
and oil paints on canvas and paper. His art is very distinctive
and the drawing strategy he uses helps him to make statements
on real life experience. Caricature is a form of art which is
a visual mean of criticism with a touch of humor. He showcases
his expertise in the field of caricature which is a visual means
of criticism with a touch of humor.
Other
artists from Kolkata will also showcase their works at this show.
Piyali Ghosh who is currently pursuing her masters at the Rabindra
Bharati University , has also participated in various exhibitions
and won the certificate of merit in painting from (ICAD) Kolkatta.
Arpita Chandra an alumnus of ICAD has to her credit participation
in many exhibitions and a gold medal in Avantika and the H J Kajriwal
award. She has showcased her work at the time and space gallery,
Bangalore and has many private collections both in India and abroad.
Dhanajoy Ghosh an expert in water color and oil painting has his
collections in Kolkatta, Mumbai and Canada . He has won the Aranya
award and certificates of merit from Avantika and Rajjya Charukala.
Pradip Kumar Sau, winner of the national literacy mission competition
poster competition and bronze medal at Avantikaa has participated
in exhibitions across the country and has his collections showcased
both in India and abroad.
An
eclectic amalgamation of specially selected paintings and sculptors,
tied together with the commonality of cultural origin, this exhibition
