Flake Open 2001
is the fifth edition of what was billed as India's number
one tennis event. It is also the first tour event on the ATP
Calendar. The total prize money for the tournament - US $
4,00,000 (approximately Rs.1,88,00,000). The venue was the
Nungambakkam Tennis Stadium, which is a hard court
surface. The biggest crowd-pullers - India's most famous doubles
pair - Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi.
